Camille in the latest Pimkie collection designed by her

Camille wearing pieces from the latest Pimkie collection designed by her (Image via Camille over the rainbow)

Those of you who are also following us on Facebook might have seen the teaser we posted about the Camille Over the Rainbow x Pimkie collaboration the other day. The French-British Camille Charrière is much more than a blogger for us; rather a proper style-icon she could be called, who’s stylishness I’ve been following ever since. She is though a fashion writer at Net-a-Porter, while mastering a delicate taste by matching the off-duty Parisian chic with an edgy Londoner’s charm that’s a bit boyish, yet most of all very unique. Her collaboration with French brand Pimkie resulted a limited capsule collection that carries a hint of the high-streets’ scent in terms of dusty pink accents, textured neoprenes, oversized tomboy coats and so on. The collection – just like her style embraces effortless and laid-back styles with a slight grungy edge mixing monochromes with peachy pastels. The pieces are now available in all Pimkie stores and online as well! Happy shopping ladies!

Over the Rainbow x Pimkie Kollaboration! (more…)

The much awaited Copenhagen Fashion Week is yet to come so it’s time to refresh some memories from last season. To start with a truly and eternally beloved one – by staying loyal to her signature style, Stine Goya invited us to a trip to the Moon with her latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. The designer – blessed with a great imagination – took the inspiration from the movie called ‘A trip to the Moon’, which was one of the first movies with special effects. Stine added colour splashes to the otherwise mostly pastel palette completed with some black and white pieces, which she topped with foil-print effects and golden details for the sake of recalling the textures of the moon. The inevitable golden elements and specifically mosaic prints are the key details season after season, which strongly belong to Stine’s world and way of adding hand-embroidered details. Her magic talent to create poetic and beautiful collections that are embracing designs with a story behind literally shined through again.  Watch the new ‘A trip to the Moon’ short film a la Stine Goya!

(more…)

Carven Fall 2013 (All images: Fairchild)

Carven Fall 2013 (All images: Fairchild)

Just like our comfort zones craved so, we can finally enjoy a real summer where bikinis and tanning oils absolutely took over and made up all the inconvenience the bad weather caused. From the position of a tanning bed I really don’t mind looking back at some of the greatest Autumn/Winter 2013 collections, such as Carven’s was. Creative Director Guillaume Henry – who’s known for his quirky volumes and fabrics – created coats that were oversized and reminded of teddy bear textures while showcased some of the prettiest colours of the season: baby blue, pink, camel and blush. The size wasn’t the only twist in the collection, after the sugary palette a bunch of sexy animal prints followed as well as rubbery jacquards and graphic prints. The dresses were dreamy yet carried a great deal of edge, especially a black-on-black, zebra-stripe pencil dress cut high on the neck with an open back framed by wide collars. It all felt minimal yet richly flavoured in quality, volume, elegance and freshness. If I would have to address a message to the whole collection itself I would say ‘Come as you are’.

(more…)

Simone Rocha is a Dublin-born, London-based designer who debuted with a solo catwalk show during London Fashion Week back in 2011. As many may assume, her father, John Rocha is celebrated fashion designer, and Simone is following in her famous father’s fashion footsteps so to say. Since then (2011), her collections continuously carry a modern and strong yet romantic edge, which is definitely Rocha’s own. The often clean and minimalistic-like pieces feature experimental and pioneering fabric techniques such as intricately embroidered silks, hand-knittined and hand-crocheted details in the prettiest hues of pale pink, off white and black. The collection paid homage and was inspired by her grandmother, called ‘Respect Your Elders’ and yet took ‘granny chic’ to new heights. She is definitely one to watch!

(more…)
