What’s the most important issue when it comes to lingerie? Well, regardless occasions we believe in sexy, yet comfortable blacks just as the breathtakingly hot Oysho advert suggests. Oysho took the classy approach by featuring the brunette model Hilary Rhoda as the latest face and body of the Spanish brand’s lingerie line for Fall 2013. The American beauty exudes sensuality almost effortlessly in the seductive black and white snaps. Wearing hosiery, nightwear and lacy bra and underwear sets; Hilary perfectly shines through in the sexy images. As part of the Inditex Group, Oysho shares the same fashion management strategy and philosophy as ZARA or Massimo Dutti where collections are renewed as fast as trends, thereby providing customers with a quality design products straight from Barcelona at a very affordable price range. Today’s lesson: classic always works!
(more…)
Once the business starts up, the sky is the only limit – at least in the case of the Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bündchen who – just like last year – has topped the list of the highest-earning models for the seventh year running, as stated on Vogue. According to Forbes magazine, the supermodel takes in about $42 million in a single year – thank to her collaboration with H&M, Chanel, Pantene and David Yurman, as well as a stake in the Brazilian footwear company Grendene and her own, increasingly profitable, lingerie label. The second place is taken by Kate Moss who remained one of the biggest style-icons over almost the past two decades, lately collaborating with Longchamp, Mango, Rimmel, and Vogue Eyewear. The list continues with Russian Natalia Vodianova, the lately featured Heidi Klum and everybody’s beauty-icon Adriana Lima or the Australian model Miranda Kerr thank to her Kora Organics beauty line, as well as deals with Qantas, David Jones and Mango. There is something in common in the top then richest models, and that’s nothing else but the fact as they are either currently Victoria’s Secret Angels or have modelled for the lingerie label in the past. At this level, things go far more deeper than things like beauty or luck; it’s all about talent, business, personality; it’s about the ones who has become a staple at once for all by being blessed with rare kind of genes.
(more…)
As stalking the supermodel’s Instagram earlier today, Gisele Bündchen was officially spotted shooting some upcoming ads on the streets of London during the previous days – turns out the supermodel was working on H&M’s fall campaign. H&M has worked with some pretty big names these past couple of years and shortly after Vogue leaked the top secret info after the gossips back in May, the brand finally confirmed the exciting news. If that weren’t enough, the busy-beautiful mom is also currently the face of Chanel beauty still being blessed with perfect genes. It’s no wonder she has been the highest-paid supermodel for nearly a decade! By the way the Autumn/Winter range will include soft wools and leathers in the palette of Earth colours such as ivory, khaki, beige and black. We cannot wait!
(more…)
I hope you guys appreciate today’s post, because it’s special in a sense that it’s featuring menswear, which is quite rare on the blog. It has two and a half reasons why I couldn’t just ‘walk away’ from mentioning it; most of all it’s ZARA, and that’s already something worth to be mentioned, the second is that the scene is happened to be the beautiful Budapest, and a half is that every woman needs a stylish man;) ZARA’s men’s collections always manage to stay masculine and sleek by aiming the men on the go. Making a return for the fall collection, the range includes chinos, leather jackets, trench coats, tailored blazers and oversized bags in the selection of heavy materials – perfect for business or travelling as well. The black&white images and the streets of Budapest recalled the perfect forwarder of the winter months, not to mention the masculine silhouettes and clean lines worn by dashing young models…As can be expected from Zara A/W13 collection it is such a simply yet sophisticated affair that is effortlessly stylish.
(more…)
I’ve just recently come across Animale’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection – and backstage video made during their lookbook shooting – as browsing Sao Paulo Fashion Week’s website. The summer 2014 campaign from Animale star the always gorgeous model, Karlie Kloss who poses for Henrique Gendre in the dreamy video dressed in designs inspired by the island of Bali. Karlie Kloss is an American model mostly known for her work in Vogue US and runway dominance – and by the way she’s just turned 21. The Animale pieces this season are all about fluidity and drapery paired with bold prints and clashing patterns, while embracing asymmetric cuts. Besides all the fluidity and flowing silks, the accessories built in the garments gave sort of a structure and not least an edgy twist to the collection. Watch beautiful Karlie Kloss in motion and check out the full lookbook here.

Barcelona, Summer, Adriana Lima and Desigual are the keywords of these next few lines of text, despite I’ve got the feeling that this time the images speak better. I’ve shortly referred to Barcelona in my previous post but nothing in details. Barcelona Fashion Week is a bit like Barcelona itself; it’s loaded with energy, it’s romantic arty and colourful; it’s vibrant just as the features Desigual carry. Desigual is renowned of its unique vision of mixing and matching prints and colours – each piece has a spirit and promotes the perfect attire for the Spanish climate while constantly aiming to emphasise female beauty. The core message of Desigual is that the brand envisaged an image in which people dressed in a different ways; in clothes that helps to generate positive feelings and are affordable to all. Besides the colour and print invasion no one less than Adriana Lima spiced up the atmosphere during the show! Well done Barcelona and Desigual, you know how to attract attention!
(more…)
I have already briefly mentioned Miu Miu’s Fall 2013 collection, which included polka dotted patterns matched with striped tights and fairytale-like shoes by referring to quite a fantasy-rich basis of inspiration. For its campaign video, Miu Miu takes nine models to the edge of a cinematic seaside scene photographed by the creative duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Besides a great deal of mystery and femininity the photographer duo manages to make the dancing models seem like a relatively unpleasant and grim way of spending time on the boat. The surreal images and postures are part of a recent trend (for example Raf Simons’ Dior campaign) in high-end advertising that juxtaposes models in intricate outfits against flat backgrounds doing moody yet slightly exaggerated moves. Models Katlin Aas, Emily DiDonato, Daphne Groeneveld, Georgia May Jagger, Adriana Lima, Marina Nery, Hind Sahli, Anne Verhallen, and Lindsey Wixson are the ones doing Miu Miu’s dance this time.
(more…)
Elie Saab celebrates the arrival of its pre-fall 2013 collection in stores with a new short film titled, ‘Reflections’ – referring to the lucid reflections of endless mirrors in the film. The video stars the Lithuanian model Egle Tvirbutaite, who walks the halls of a mansion in beautifully tailored and detailed gowns – just like we got used to from Elie Saab. Enchanting and seductive, the Elie Saab woman walks with pure confidence for the pre-fall season; the whole rhythm and pulse of the video just as much as the pieces speak of effeminacy, edge, elegance by celebrating women. Tone-on-tone shades, rich embroidery, shine and sophisticated silhouettes feature the gowns, while the focus is on the woman and her vision of beauty. I also have to mention that it’s quite impressive as the song ‘Your Name’ by Lexy & K-Paul feat. Chefket provides the perfect tempo for this mysterious and seductively expressive ad.

While checking out the latest Jil Sander menswear collection from Milan Fashion Week – in which Jil chose to use colour and did it with real precision and charm – started to wonder what and who is today’s male idol, what makes a man/boy charming in the real world versus on the catwalk. From the woman point of view I would say a man is to be man if you know what I mean; masculine, tidy yet slightly stubbly, stylish but not overly dandy. That’s our husband/boyfriend/lover-to-be; but what about the new generation of literally beautiful boys? Hazel eyes, freckles here and there, curly tresses and slender proportions suggesting a bit of untouchability…being a blank beauty so to say is rather in today. But beside the new wave of male models; in fashion, sometimes the reminiscence faces of the old ‘in’ (which was more man-like) walks in and still attracts – it often takes the form of nostalgia but that’s a drag. I guess there is no conclusion of this post nor an answer, it’s a challenge for us to accept, understand and catch up with the latest male in-s; but if you ask me David Gandy is my eternal idol. What do you ladies say?
