I reckon not all of us is there yet, but for sure you all have imagined wearing THAT white dress and saying the magic ‘I do’ to THE one – if yes, then we are on the same track. I probably shouldn’t beat about the bush and just call today’s theme the wedding, discussed through the fashion point of view. We all love weddings even when you are just a ‘guest’; you can feel the love in the air, get the chance to wear your brand new heels, drink, eat, laugh and dance just like it was yours. But what to wear exactly on such occasion? Some says neither pure white, nor pure black and I kind of have to agree. But there are other factors to consider: the climate, traditions or even a special ‘dress code’ that has to be respected. While it’s a day to remember for bride in over-all white, an outfit to cherish for you, so if the location is outdoor (beach, garden, park) I would suggest to go for a laid-back bohemian look and feel. The maxi dress-pumps-clutch paired with some fresh flowers and wind-blown hairstyle must be the right possible choice. If you are dealing with a little more serious location, you should stick with a knee-lenght dress, let it flow or tighten depending on you style and body-shape. However the matter isn’t only the fit or the length but rather the colour and print. Talk together with your friends and the bride and choose something that is chic and tailored but doesn’t shine more than the bride – wear peplum, sleek prints and bold colours to make your own statement. Shoes and accessories are a fabulous way to vamp up your wedding guest look without upstaging the bride. If your dress is simple, chic and modestly toned, have a little twist with a burst of colour or pearls and sparkle at your ears or feet!
(more…)
