Isabel Marant is one of the most in-demand fashion lines in the world – and that is a fact. Having already given us statements like hidden-wedge sneakers or baroque wallpaper resembled bombers, she’s now reaching out to a wider crowd with her collaboration together with H&M. With words like very French, androgynous and bohemian I could best describe  Marant’s world – you do feel her passion in her designs, while at the same time you do feel her modesty too. This makes the whole image around the brand very honest, yet very natural and apparently above all, hers.  Set to hit stores on the 14th of November, the eagerly anticipated capsule collection by Isabel Marant for H&M sees the French designer unveil her debut menswear alongside women’s and kid’s – bringing together her Parisian chic versus laid-back references available for the public. Excitingly for male fans of the brand, Marant has also created her very first full men’s collection as part of the collaboration, featuring heavy knits, biker-inspired leather pants, embroidered jeans and outerwear by balancing a fine line between the male and female collection. Save the date, 14TH OF NOVEMBER!

(more…)

Camille in the latest Pimkie collection designed by her

Those of you who are also following us on Facebook might have seen the teaser we posted about the Camille Over the Rainbow x Pimkie collaboration the other day. The French-British Camille Charrière is much more than a blogger for us; rather a proper style-icon she could be called, who’s stylishness I’ve been following ever since. She is though a fashion writer at Net-a-Porter, while mastering a delicate taste by matching the off-duty Parisian chic with an edgy Londoner’s charm that’s a bit boyish, yet most of all very unique. Her collaboration with French brand Pimkie resulted a limited capsule collection that carries a hint of the high-streets’ scent in terms of dusty pink accents, textured neoprenes, oversized tomboy coats and so on. The collection – just like her style embraces effortless and laid-back styles with a slight grungy edge mixing monochromes with peachy pastels. The pieces are now available in all Pimkie stores and online as well! Happy shopping ladies!

Over the Rainbow x Pimkie Kollaboration! (more…)

Avant-garde seems to be having a persistent Renaissance. I am not really sure if it is the constant pursuit of people to create something new or because radicalism has a new allegory. When it comes to fashion avant-garde indeed has a reference with exactly 20 letters: Maison Martin Margiela. Although the designer has Belgian roots the couture house is French. And not only French but also one of the leading designers from the fashion metropolis Paris, arguably influencing what is happening in this fashion universe. (more…)

Swarovski Crystal has more than 100 years of history and is renowned for its quality and distinction, hence the fact, that Swarovski Collective selects a group of designers every show season to collaborate with, must be the greatest honour. The carefully selected talents who are chosen based on ‘cutting edge talent and ability to demonstrate exquisite craftsmanship with crystal’. To the existing list of designers consisting of Mary Katrantzou, Prabal Gurung, Giles and Rodarte the following ones will join: Alexis Mabille, Sister by Sibling and Michael van der Ham for the very first time. The initiative most of all aims to support both emerging and established designers in exploring craftsmanship and heritage. As it’s explained on Vogue, ‘As the members of the collective, each designer receives financial support towards the production of their show, as well as free reign to experiment with Swarovski crystals.’ It looks like we are looking ahead to a glamorous season, because nothing sparkles as bright as a crystal.

(more…)

As stalking the supermodel’s Instagram earlier today, Gisele Bündchen was officially spotted shooting some upcoming ads on the streets of London during the previous days – turns out the supermodel was working on H&M’s fall campaign. H&M has worked with some pretty big names these past couple of years and shortly after Vogue leaked the top secret info after the gossips back in May, the brand finally confirmed the exciting news. If that weren’t enough, the busy-beautiful mom is also currently the face of Chanel beauty still being blessed with perfect genes. It’s no wonder she has been the highest-paid supermodel for nearly a decade! By the way the Autumn/Winter range will include soft wools and leathers in the palette of Earth colours such as ivory, khaki, beige and black. We cannot wait!

(more…)

You guys might remember this post about the upcoming Bik Bok x MK & Ashley Olsen collaboration from April. The twins have just launched this new high-street collection which lets you shop their vintage-inspired cool for less than €100 – but only if you live in Norway or Sweden or you wish to shop online. As stated on Vogue ‘The collection reflects their own grungy-glamorous aesthetic with the luxe basics that their label The Row is famous for; layers of jersey, chiffon, angora and leather, and oversized accessories galore.’ There are a range of black structural jackets and skinny black faux leather leggings on offer, besides the tailored sweaters, silky blouses, roomy shirts and the boxy bags the Olsens have become known for. Over the past few years the Olsens have made their stamp on the fashion world, winning CFDA Designer of the Year for their work on The Row and yet by opening new doors for bringing some high-street flash available for the crowd. See the full collection here! Happy shopping!

EINFACH BERLIN (credits: @iambarnie)

EINFACH BERLIN (credits: @iambarnie)

I was wondering whether I’m too late with this whole post or not but then I remembered the ‘never too late’ cliché, so here it comes: The story started during last Budapest Fashion Week, as in the after party massive EINFACH BERLIN T-s caught my eyes, but you know how it is – the delicious cocktails and fashionable crowd  kept me more busy than making an effort in digging deeper what does EINFACH BERLIN stand for. A few months passed by and they were there again; on Facebook, a sudden Press Release in my mailbox about the upcoming Nanushka x EINFACH BERLIN collaboration and a list of a diverse range of cooler than cool events – open-air film screenings, exhibitions, picnics and parties running under their name – that took place last week in Budapest.

To fully fill up my curiosity I managed to steal some words from Levente Trellay one of the core members of the EINFACH BERLIN team:

Reka / SilkSoFine: How did you guys come up with the idea of EINFACH BERLIN?

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: Let me recall one of our previous interviews…We figured out the whole idea together with some friends from Berlin as both parties were sharing the enthusiasm for a cultural exchange. The birth of those friendships also meant the birth of EINFACH BERLIN. The whole idea is much about seizing the summer so to say, celebrating a cultural niche, openness and not least Budapest as our very own Berlin.

Reka / SilkSoFine: Why Berlin and not London for example?

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: We’ve been cherishing a much more personal relationship with Berlin than with London from the beginning, two of us also used to live there, we go back quite often…they are more alike.

Reka / SilkSoFine:  The mini festival is over, how would you evaluate it?

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: It much lived up to our expectations, honestly, it had the vibe! Thank to our friends’ support and the ever growing network we are dealing with, the mini festival embraced some art, gastro, music, fashion in collaboration with restaurants, bars and Hungarian designer, Nanushka. It’s been the greatest pleasure to see as these fusions worked out.

Reka / SilkSoFine: Is there going to be an ‘EINFACH BUDAPEST’ movement in Berlin as well?

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: Yes exactly, our goal is to start the vice versa story in Berlin.

Reka / SilkSoFine:  And what about the Nanushka collaboration? I’ve got really excited…

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: It was Barnabas’ idea to sort of fill in the ‘fashion’ gap during the mini festival, and since we mutually respect each other’s work with Szandra Sandor ( Nanushka), it turned out really good. We needed the photos quite fast though so Barnabas just photographed the pieces on me and her sister at the Nanushka-base.

Reka / SilkSoFine: And my last question would be, what’s the most attractive and special about Berlin for you?

Levente / EINFACH BERLIN: Let’s see…most of all Berlin is very complex, diverse and exciting. The atmosphere suggests openness; it’s very receptive. And last but not least it’s very personal – many thrilling details, cleverly used public spaces that makes it very lovable and livable for someone blessed with constant thirst for the rhythm of Berlin’s vibrant life.

Reka / SilkSoFine: Thank you Levente and we wish you all the very best for the future!

“It’s workout wear with attitude, to make you feel stylish while you exercise, creating standout pieces that you can make your own”- explains Stella McCartney the spirit of her collaboration with Adidas that is focusing on both aesthetics and performance. The continuing partnership between Stella McCartney and Adidas made a new season debut that merges functionality with the new fashion wave perfectly. In their latest Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign the technical issues become new fashion opportunities to reinterpret for example parkas and winter outfits. The collection is offering sportswear in a spectrum of vivid colours, high-tech fabrics and graphic prints that we got used to from Stella. By adding a twist to any workout, the range of sportswear is including winter leggings, lightweight jackets, sport bags that broke the standard sportswear feel and has rather been added  a street-style touch. In the mood for sports yet?

“Es ist Workout Kleidung mit Attitüde, damit man sich stilvoll fühlt, während man trainiert, wir kreieren hervorstechende Stücke, die ihr euer Eigen nennen könntet” – erklärt Stella McCartney den Geist ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Adidas, die den Fokus sowohl auf Ästhetik als auch Leistung setzt. It’s not the sisters’ debut design venture – in fact, far from it: they previously created a capsule collection for Mango and have designed handbags with Japanese label Samantha Thavasa and will soon also unveil a lingerie line for Agent Provocateur. Penelope Cruz is also currently the face of Loewe, having signed a three-year deal to work with the Spanish brand and now she’s also ready to design a range of bags in corporation with her sister, Monica Cruz to them. The range will consist of  cross-body bags with outside pockets, which come in a variety of colours, alongside accompanying purses and wallets – and was designed for the busy working woman – as I got to know from Vogue’s review today. The sisters dreamed something that’s both practical and functional, luxurious and stylish with a hint of unmistakable Spanish elements. Looking forward to see as the Cruz sisters bring their talent this time to Loewe!

Revlon has just announced it’s collaboration with Marchesa, best known for its over-the-top red carpet gowns, on three beauty collections that will include nail polish, lip and eye products, 3D nail art, and beauty tools. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig behind the Marchesa brand are tend to reflect some aristocratic eighteenth-century romanticism on each collection, in terms of prints, embellishment and volume, which will continue in the form of – as stated on Vogue earlier – a 3D Jewel Appliqué nail art collection that will feature eight different patterns inspired by Marchesa couture gowns. This collaboration aims through Revlon’s incredible global reach, that they will be able to bring a little piece of Marchesa to women around the world. The first Revlon by Marchesa nail art collection will launch in the UK in September, and it will not be any less impressive than the gowns themselves, so stay tuned!
