With the age and having worked and lived in the ever-changing fashion industry since quite a bit, ones’ shopping habits need to show some sort of consciousness and loyalty towards your own personal style. By the way, are guys any conscious shoppers? Anyway, what my routine is lately that I’m trying to make inspiration boards, browse streetstyle blogs and most of all check my garments from last season to see what could be mixed and matched with my new in-s. Besides the must-have pale-pink wool coat, I’ll definitely go for a pair of thigh-high suede boots, preferably the flat ones though. While searching for the proper style, I ran into this lovely video staring Kate Moss for Stuart Weitzman‘s AW13 ‘Made for Walking’ campaign video. As much I love everything about the shoes, that much I love the video too; directed by independent filmmaker Balthazar Klarwein, the short film brings to life the tangible thrill of Kate Moss stepping out in central London wearing Stuart Weitzman boots paired with her very own stylish and sexy attitude. If the shoes and Moss herself wouldn’t be appealing enough, a modern remake of the classic Nancy Sinatra song ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’ is played throughout the video. Will you guys get a pair too? – because we are sold!
(more…)
Surely Prada’s video campaigns never, ever disappoint. The ‘Real Fantasies’ series by Prada continues also for this coming fall season, picturing a beautifully surreal, collage-like short film directed by once again the Rotterdam-based creatives, AMO. ‘The Characters perform in a world of distorted normality, a collection of everyday moments assembled together to form the film noir of commonness.’ Displaying profound romanticism, and the ambience of reality vs. fantasy, the short film merges urban animation with models in constant motion. Not to forget about its real point; the essence is captured through Prada’s sophisticated designs in terms of massive furs, slim waistlines and not least the suits&ties matches. Just like the movie, the looks also felt a little off balance; subtle illusions and a certain mystery surrounded the collection itself – but in the end, as always, the whole is just to be seen as the ultimate form of perfection by Miuccia Prada. She made us curious, again.
Mango AW13 campaign (All images: Mango)
I’m sure that the following statement won’t be valid for all of you guys due to the international readership, but I do feel that Autumn is coming. The nights are a little chilly, the summer breeze often brings rain instead and I feel comfortable wearing biker boots or denim jacket, so I guess it’s time for a little wardrobe inspiration for the colder days this time from Mango. Victoria’s Secret darling, Miranda Kerr literally rocks the edgy looks in Mango‘s Fall 2013 lookbook, thank to the leather-stud-checques match. The whole collection suggests the ‘lets get the grunge chic mood’ in a mix of plaid, denim and floral prints styled by Geraldine Saglio. The images were shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with NYC as her backdrop. “I had a great time shooting the Fall/Winter campaign for Mango with Inez and Vinoodh,” she said to ELLE. “They are an amazing team to work with – we had such a good time together. The clothing is especially fun this season with a punk‐inspired edge.” Happy shopping!
(more…)
I hope you guys appreciate today’s post, because it’s special in a sense that it’s featuring menswear, which is quite rare on the blog. It has two and a half reasons why I couldn’t just ‘walk away’ from mentioning it; most of all it’s ZARA, and that’s already something worth to be mentioned, the second is that the scene is happened to be the beautiful Budapest, and a half is that every woman needs a stylish man;) ZARA’s men’s collections always manage to stay masculine and sleek by aiming the men on the go. Making a return for the fall collection, the range includes chinos, leather jackets, trench coats, tailored blazers and oversized bags in the selection of heavy materials – perfect for business or travelling as well. The black&white images and the streets of Budapest recalled the perfect forwarder of the winter months, not to mention the masculine silhouettes and clean lines worn by dashing young models…As can be expected from Zara A/W13 collection it is such a simply yet sophisticated affair that is effortlessly stylish.
(more…)
Feels like summer has just arrived and we are already craving the fall collections; London streets, long legs, hats, a touch of greyness and monochromes by Zara, that has released its fall 2013 campaign on the 1st of August featuring a cast of gorgeous models including Julia Nobis, Juliane Gruner, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Mijo Mihaljcic and Ashleigh Good. Patrick Demarchelier shot the advertisements, while Marie-Amélie Sauvé styled the girls in a mix of bohemian and timelessly elegant styles. The bunch of girls are posing and rushing on the streets of London looking stylish from head to the toes as they take over the rhythm of the city. The collection features straight cuts, fine leathers, wools with rough seams, formal wear in dark blue shades and some floral printed sheers in the colours of autumn. Do you wish deep down that summer was over yet?

“It’s workout wear with attitude, to make you feel stylish while you exercise, creating standout pieces that you can make your own”- explains Stella McCartney the spirit of her collaboration with Adidas that is focusing on both aesthetics and performance. The continuing partnership between Stella McCartney and Adidas made a new season debut that merges functionality with the new fashion wave perfectly. In their latest Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign the technical issues become new fashion opportunities to reinterpret for example parkas and winter outfits. The collection is offering sportswear in a spectrum of vivid colours, high-tech fabrics and graphic prints that we got used to from Stella. By adding a twist to any workout, the range of sportswear is including winter leggings, lightweight jackets, sport bags that broke the standard sportswear feel and has rather been added a street-style touch. In the mood for sports yet?
“Es ist Workout Kleidung mit Attitüde, damit man sich stilvoll fühlt, während man trainiert, wir kreieren hervorstechende Stücke, die ihr euer Eigen nennen könntet” – erklärt Stella McCartney den Geist ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Adidas, die den Fokus sowohl auf Ästhetik als auch Leistung setzt. The much awaited Copenhagen Fashion Week is yet to come so it’s time to refresh some memories from last season. To start with a truly and eternally beloved one – by staying loyal to her signature style, Stine Goya invited us to a trip to the Moon with her latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. The designer – blessed with a great imagination – took the inspiration from the movie called ‘A trip to the Moon’, which was one of the first movies with special effects. Stine added colour splashes to the otherwise mostly pastel palette completed with some black and white pieces, which she topped with foil-print effects and golden details for the sake of recalling the textures of the moon. The inevitable golden elements and specifically mosaic prints are the key details season after season, which strongly belong to Stine’s world and way of adding hand-embroidered details. Her magic talent to create poetic and beautiful collections that are embracing designs with a story behind literally shined through again. Watch the new ‘A trip to the Moon’ short film a la Stine Goya!
(more…)
Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 (All images: Fairchild)
There are two kinds of people; the ones who follow the rules and the ones who set them – to the latter belongs both Oscar de la Renta and John Galliano. And why did I mention these names together? Well, for the Autumn/Winter 2013 Oscar de la Renta collection a magical collaboration was born – the designs were produced under the artistic consultancy of John Galliano. This meant that one of the all-times most talented designer has finally (or not) made his return to the world of fashion and he was given this much-deserved second chance, by one of the masters of American fashion, Oscar de la Renta. I could talk about ethics, scandals etc, but the result – which is nothing but pure heaven – made up all the negativity around him. The ever elegant de la Renta trademark was still there, this time melting together with Galliano’s dramatic touch that had some decadently romantic edge. The duo lined up sophisticated gowns, gold bullion embroidery, head to toe feathers , fur and sheer fabrics for the sake of bringing together everything that is luxurious, beautifully tailored and overly feminine. Bravo Oscar de la Renta and welcome back Mr. Galliano, you had been missed!
(more…)
Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2013 RTW ( All images: Fairchild)
Diane von Furstenberg – as also being one – designs for the confident woman who walks in the room and man spills out the champaign (with a poetic excess). Her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection showcased primarily dresses with plenty of prints, skins and furs with an emphasis on metallics that shine just as much as the wearer. The animal prints made a sharp statement while recalled a hint of the elegant 70s ethos and the renaissance of exotic print mash-ups. The overall strong retro-glam feel and the iconic DVF wrap dress in 70s brown suede matched laid-back make-up and loose hairstyle beautifully balanced each other. The delicious blend of colours and textures started off with a neutral palette and ended in heavy orange and red tones combined with flashes of electric gold cigarette pants. Despite all the sharpness and edge the collection was most of all exotic and glamorous yet infinitely wearable. Would you dare wearing them?
(more…)
Looks like fashion films are the must visual go-alongs with lookbooks and fashion campaigns in the season. Lanvin‘s AW13 fashion film is suggesting that one woman can have many faces; animating the same multiple personality concept which was featured in their campaign, the newly released video version is starring the beloved British-model, Edie Campbell playing six imaginary versions of herself. The short clip features menswear too; six different men with diverse points of view, expressing the diversity of the Lanvin man. The charming narration – which gave the film a cool and original touch talks about the meaning of love, uncool versus cool and what makes Lanvin what it is today besides not least promoting some of the statement pieces of the Paris-based label’s AW13 collection. The film was shot by American photographer Steven Meisel, with creative direction by Ronnie Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme of House + Holme.
