With the age and having worked and lived in the ever-changing fashion industry since quite a bit, ones’ shopping habits need to show some sort of consciousness and loyalty towards your own personal style. By the way, are guys any conscious shoppers? Anyway, what my routine is lately that I’m trying to make inspiration boards, browse streetstyle blogs and most of all check my garments from last season to see what could be mixed and matched with my new in-s. Besides the must-have pale-pink wool coat, I’ll definitely go for a pair of thigh-high suede boots, preferably the flat ones though. While searching for the proper style, I ran into this lovely video staring Kate Moss for Stuart Weitzman‘s AW13 ‘Made for Walking’ campaign video. As much I love everything about the shoes, that much I love the video too; directed by independent filmmaker Balthazar Klarwein, the short film brings to life the tangible thrill of Kate Moss stepping out in central London wearing Stuart Weitzman boots paired with her very own stylish and sexy attitude. If the shoes and Moss herself wouldn’t be appealing enough, a modern remake of the classic Nancy Sinatra song ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’ is played throughout the video. Will you guys get a pair too? – because we are sold!
(more…)
Surely Prada’s video campaigns never, ever disappoint. The ‘Real Fantasies’ series by Prada continues also for this coming fall season, picturing a beautifully surreal, collage-like short film directed by once again the Rotterdam-based creatives, AMO. ‘The Characters perform in a world of distorted normality, a collection of everyday moments assembled together to form the film noir of commonness.’ Displaying profound romanticism, and the ambience of reality vs. fantasy, the short film merges urban animation with models in constant motion. Not to forget about its real point; the essence is captured through Prada’s sophisticated designs in terms of massive furs, slim waistlines and not least the suits&ties matches. Just like the movie, the looks also felt a little off balance; subtle illusions and a certain mystery surrounded the collection itself – but in the end, as always, the whole is just to be seen as the ultimate form of perfection by Miuccia Prada. She made us curious, again.
Are you ready for some pure pleasure, ladies? Teenage idol Robert Pattison for the Dior Homme advert touched down on the 1st of September and it was well worth all the waiting; shot in sexy black and white against a New York backdrop, the short film speaks of proper seduction. The rather edgy video features Led Zeppelin’s beloved tunes ‘Whole Lotta Love’ as the soundtrack and a whole smoking hot flair with co-star French model Camille Rowe, who’s romantically seducing Pattison (or maybe vice versa) through bedrooms, bathrooms and ballrooms. The video was directed by Romain Gavras, showcasing Rob in all his glory, and predicting a rather masculine yet highly attractive scent as the new Dior Homme perfume. Just as the new cool dictates, the moody actor enjoys a drag on a cigarette, hangs out on roofs, passionately kisses ladies because it’s 2013, so let’s play those games cooler than ever. Are you in or our?
(more…)
I hope you guys appreciate today’s post, because it’s special in a sense that it’s featuring menswear, which is quite rare on the blog. It has two and a half reasons why I couldn’t just ‘walk away’ from mentioning it; most of all it’s ZARA, and that’s already something worth to be mentioned, the second is that the scene is happened to be the beautiful Budapest, and a half is that every woman needs a stylish man;) ZARA’s men’s collections always manage to stay masculine and sleek by aiming the men on the go. Making a return for the fall collection, the range includes chinos, leather jackets, trench coats, tailored blazers and oversized bags in the selection of heavy materials – perfect for business or travelling as well. The black&white images and the streets of Budapest recalled the perfect forwarder of the winter months, not to mention the masculine silhouettes and clean lines worn by dashing young models…As can be expected from Zara A/W13 collection it is such a simply yet sophisticated affair that is effortlessly stylish.
(more…)
I’ve just recently come across Animale’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection – and backstage video made during their lookbook shooting – as browsing Sao Paulo Fashion Week’s website. The summer 2014 campaign from Animale star the always gorgeous model, Karlie Kloss who poses for Henrique Gendre in the dreamy video dressed in designs inspired by the island of Bali. Karlie Kloss is an American model mostly known for her work in Vogue US and runway dominance – and by the way she’s just turned 21. The Animale pieces this season are all about fluidity and drapery paired with bold prints and clashing patterns, while embracing asymmetric cuts. Besides all the fluidity and flowing silks, the accessories built in the garments gave sort of a structure and not least an edgy twist to the collection. Watch beautiful Karlie Kloss in motion and check out the full lookbook here.

Feels like summer has just arrived and we are already craving the fall collections; London streets, long legs, hats, a touch of greyness and monochromes by Zara, that has released its fall 2013 campaign on the 1st of August featuring a cast of gorgeous models including Julia Nobis, Juliane Gruner, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Mijo Mihaljcic and Ashleigh Good. Patrick Demarchelier shot the advertisements, while Marie-Amélie Sauvé styled the girls in a mix of bohemian and timelessly elegant styles. The bunch of girls are posing and rushing on the streets of London looking stylish from head to the toes as they take over the rhythm of the city. The collection features straight cuts, fine leathers, wools with rough seams, formal wear in dark blue shades and some floral printed sheers in the colours of autumn. Do you wish deep down that summer was over yet?

The much awaited Copenhagen Fashion Week is yet to come so it’s time to refresh some memories from last season. To start with a truly and eternally beloved one – by staying loyal to her signature style, Stine Goya invited us to a trip to the Moon with her latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. The designer – blessed with a great imagination – took the inspiration from the movie called ‘A trip to the Moon’, which was one of the first movies with special effects. Stine added colour splashes to the otherwise mostly pastel palette completed with some black and white pieces, which she topped with foil-print effects and golden details for the sake of recalling the textures of the moon. The inevitable golden elements and specifically mosaic prints are the key details season after season, which strongly belong to Stine’s world and way of adding hand-embroidered details. Her magic talent to create poetic and beautiful collections that are embracing designs with a story behind literally shined through again. Watch the new ‘A trip to the Moon’ short film a la Stine Goya!
(more…)
Summer is often identified and described with the words ‘free’ and ‘freedom’. I’ve met Free People about three years ago and it was crash for first sight. They were, and still are completely different from any other online stores by keeping this very bohemian, fresh vintage image. They are striving to reach the smart, creative, confident and comfortable in all aspects of her being type of girl/woman, who’s free and adventurous, and also as they explain; ‘sweet to tough to tomboy to romantic. A girl/woman who likes to keep busy and push life to its limits, with traveling and hanging out and everything in between; who loves Donovan as much as she loves The Dears, and can’t resist petting any dog that passes her by on the street.’ Free People offers – besides the clothing line – also a range of shoes, bags, accessories and lingerie. UK-born beauty, Daisy Lowe fronts Free People’s new campaign for its Intimates collection where Daisy stars in a series of romantic images shot by Guy Aroch. Accompanying the images, Free People has also released a video starring the Daisy and male model, Jacques Naude. Titled, ‘Neighbor’, the short film captures Lowe as she’s attempting to get her neighbor’s attention with a series of quirky and funny moments…Simply lovely and free. PS.: Don’t forget; as much as summer is the time of ‘freedom’, it is also the best time for falling in love;)
(more…)
Lancôme Hypnôse Show, featuring the most emblematic range of Lancôme mascaras, dressed by Alber Elbaz
Since we are living in – and some of us are probably also very literally living the decade of collaborations, here is a brand new and a rather great one from Lanvin’s Creative Director Alber Elbaz, who teamed up with the French beauty house, Lancôme for the sake of a makeup collaboration. The final video is the reveal of the capsule collection just went live on Monday, June 3rd. The full length animation is the lifelike visualisation of the whole buzzing fashion week atmosphere, where flashes, heels, makeup, and iPads take over, while displaying beautifully bright colours, a sense of humor and those iconic Alber Elbaz illustrations. The limited-edition makeup collection is set to be released on June 15th and will include mascaras, pigments, eyeshadows and – for the first time at Lancôme – exclusive false lashes. It’s a happy project – like we needed it – it’s about a story, a tale; it’s both vivid, fun, beautiful, enviable, but most of all – as Elbaz explained: ‘It’s a project which makes your eyes shine, literally, but notably in a figurative sense…’ Can’t wait to get my hands on one!
I’m sure most of you have already seen the movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ – which is the awaited adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Great American Novel – hit the cinemas right during Cannes Film Festival. Instead of writing an overview about the movie, I’ll rather provide you with some fun facts on how this collaboration between director Baz Luhrmann, costume designer Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada came to life. Despite claims that the 20’s has never influenced her collections, Miuccia Prada’s design aesthetic proved to be the perfect match possible in party-dressing the crowd of actresses and most of all Daisy (Carry Mulligan), who’s looks suggested nothing but an excessive heaven in ‘The Great Gatsby’ costumes. As a great outcome, 40 sparkling twenties-style gowns from both Prada and Miu Miu archives were being adapted for the film. The Endless strings of pearls, a diamond head-piece, intricate jewel-encrusted rings were provided by Tiffany & Co. Such feast for the eye!
(more…)
